Ufimets Ufa (Superleague 1) tabbed 26-year old Kazakhstani international forward Aleksandr Zhigulin (205-100kg-94). He has played for the last five years at Astana in Kazakhstan National League. In 18 games he averaged 11.9ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg last season. Zhigulin helped them to win the regular season. He can count that year as a very successful as was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Kazakhstan League 1st Team. Zhigulin also played 18 games in VTB United League where he had 7.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.0apg.
He has been also a member of Kazakhstan international program for some years. Zhigulin has regularly played for Kazakhstan senior team since 2009 and previously for U19 National Team back in 2009.
