Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the week for the first time Monday. The honor results in his stellar play covering Monday, November 18th to Sunday, November 24th.

During the week, Dallas won all four games while Doncic averaged 37 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 11.8 assists while shooting 55% from the floor including a ludicrous 44% from beyond the three point arc.

Per Dallas Mavericks Public Relations, Doncic is the 13th Maverick to win Player of the Week, joining Jay Vincent, Mark Aguirre, Roy Tarpley, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd, Michael Finley, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Monta Ellis and J.J. Barea. Barea was the last Maverick to win the honor in April of 2016.

We’re a mere 16 games into the NBA season and just 88 games into Doncic’s career and he’s racking up awards and honors at a staggering pace. Advanced metrics don’t know how to process or contextualize his play to date. At the moment, Luka Doncic is leading the PER (player efficiency rating) all time board, as his current season registers with a score of 33.29..More on mavsmoneyball..
