“I believe I can help this team”

The former Power Electronics Valencia centre told reporters. “I’m very happy to be here. It’s the dream of every player to have the chance to play with the European champions. I know I’ll have a good coach and some good team-mates. I believe I can help this team. I want to try and win it all next season”.

Rapid integration

Joan Bladé explained that the player had signed a two-year deal with an option for a third year. He stressed that his two years’ experience in the ACB with Valencia would help him adapt quickly: “Let’s hope he integrates quickly into the team”.

Potential for improvement

According to Joan Creus: “He‘s a young player – 25 – with a great deal of potential for improvement. Getting a player of these characteristics will help our inside game”.

Main characteristics

”He’ll strengthen the team both offensively and defensively. He’s good with his back to the ring, which is something we lacked. This quality will strengthen the team ahead of the many challenges we face this season. We’ve got a lot of hope deposited in him”.

Finally, Joan Creus pointed out that players like Perovic were highly sought after in European basketball: “At the most there are five players of his standard. I believe he’ll adapt to the team because of his characteristics. He’s skilful and agile in spite of his height. He’ll help us with the inside game. He’s creative and looks for his team-mates. He can take on responsibility. He reads the game well and passes the ball well”.
